The PROXXON Mill MF 70: Precision for Demanding Model Makers

The PROXXON Mill MF 70 is a masterpiece of precision, developed for the highest demands in model making and fine mechanics. It impresses with a stable machine base made of grey cast iron, a vertical guide slide, and a cross table made of high-strength, surface-hardened aluminum. Thanks to the backlash-free and adjustable dovetail guides in all axes, you naturally achieve exact results. The cantilever housing made of die-cast aluminum houses a 24-pole special motor, which ensures vibration-free operation even at high speeds. This allows the use of extremely small cutters, making the MF 70 ideal for filigree work.

Technical Details and Equipment

Tool clamping is done via MICROMOT system collets made of hardened and 3-slot steel. The scope of delivery includes collets with diameters of 1.0 - 1.5 - 2.0 - 2.4 - 3.0 and 3.2 mm. The precise cross table is equipped with three continuous T-slots (MICROMOT standard 12 x 6 x 5 mm). A movable ruler facilitates the exact positioning of the cross slide. All handwheels have a scale ring adjustable to 0, where 1 revolution corresponds to 1.0 mm and one division mark to 0.05 mm.

I'm pleased with the MF70 mill and generally speaking the supplier. However, the Ebay advertisement said price includes taxes, but it didn't. I had to pay VAT and import duty. I expected the import duty, but the comments about 'tax' and VAT are misleading. I did contact the company for clarification AFTER placing my order and they were honest about the situation so I was then prepared to pay the tax.
